The Kate Moss tragedy (or so they call it) has left the famous model near ruins. Her life won't be the same after someone caught her on camera sniffing coke. But I do not entirely believe she'll never survive it.This is simply a case of what we Pinoys call "crab mentality." I mean, so what if she did it? A lot of Hollywood personalities go in and out of prison because of various offenses. Just look at Robert Downey, Jr.; he's become a fixed asset inside several county jails but he's still around. How about Wynona Ryder for cryin' out loud. Our own Nora Aunor, the Philippines' most popular actress in the sixties, has a case pending before the US courts, also because of a drug offense. But forget about her.
I am just amazed how some reporters treat this as a big-time-baby thing. And I can't understand why the people who own the brands she models have stopped renewing her contracts. Her story ran for a week in leading broadsheets all over the world as though she's responsible for the shame Americans put themselves in Iraq. Anyway, is Ms. Moss an American? Just wondering. But it doesn't mean (whether she's American or Yiddish) ostracizing this beautiful lady.
Come to think of it, why don't they write about Nora Aunor instead. Ah, but forget about her.
